hi OP. As /u/CommodoreCoCo mentions, this subreddit has a "20-year rule" prohibiting discussion of current events. So, if you're looking for something that could have occurred more recently than 1994 (and downloadable mobile apps certainly sounds likely), then this question would be more appropriate for /r/AskScience or any sub that specializes in mobile technology (assuming there is one)
