Was there ever protesting or opposition to WWII in the US? If so, how prevalent was it?

Prior to the U.S. entry into the war, there was the America First movement, which sought to keep the U.S. out of the war. Charles Lindbergh, the famous aviator, was strongly associated with it. The America First Committee was formally dissolved shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
