Who ruled Piacenza, Italy through history.

by Moladelhuhi

Italy is a mixed bag, and it hasn't been a unified country until 1861. I'm curious about this, since I can trace my roots there.

What I'd like, is if someone could create a timeline sort of, of who's ruled them. It'd be very appreciated.

For example: Rome 0-277, the Gauls: 277-588. The Byzantines: 588-9999. In that format.

Thanks :D

552 - 570s WRE

570 - 8th century Lomards (Germanic tribe which then assimilated with the Latins)

late 8th century - 11th century - gradual process of gaining its own powers as an independent city state.

11th century - early 14th century - independent city state

14th century - 1500 Milan

1500 - 1520s France

1545 - 1802 Duchy of Parma (with French Royalty ruling it from the mid18th century)

1802 - 1816 France again

1816 - 1847 Austria

1847 - 1859 Duchy of Parma, though under Bourbon rule

1859 - United Provinces of Central Italy

Take this with a grain of salt, I wrote it up quickly from memory and I'm tired lol.
