Can anyone recommend some books for me to read about the Titanic's stop in Queenstown?

As part of my internship, I will be giving a talk at a local private college about the Titanic's stop in Queenstown this coming April. I want to talk about why the Titanic stopped there, as well as some of the passengers who boarded there. I've searched my college's library and Amazon but there is nothing regarding this particular area of Titanic/Irish history. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not aware of any books off of the top of my head, but I was able to dig up a few links for you, which, depending on the length of your talk and your desire to do further research, may help you out.

  1. A link to the Cobh (Queenstown) exhibition on the Titanic, including the names of several involved parties that you might be able to track down, as well as photographs of related artifacts.

  2. A link to a video discussing the local reaction to the Titanic's arrival, as well as information regarding a second-class family that boarded the Titanic. Mentions the name of a tender ship that might be worth looking into.

  3. A link to a page which includes contact information for several museums/historical sites in Cobh, who would likely be more than happy to assist you with resources for your talk.
