I remember reading something like 40% of materials used in the US War Industry came from Mexico, and that mexico supplanted workers in US industry while the men went overseas to fight. Is there any truth to this? What was Mexico's role in the war? I feel like history books don't mention they were even involved in the war.
Besides the substantial economic resources such as farm labor, oil, and metals mexico in the early 1940s really wasnt politically or economically capable of deploying large combat formations because of the 30 or so years of revolution and upheaval it had just gone through
The mexican airforce did deploy a squadron of fighter bombers flying p-47s known as the "aztec eagles" Which fought in the liberation of the Philippines
Some mention should be made that while mexico never deployed ground troops of it own tens of thousands of mexican citizens ended up fighting for allies in other armys
