I would like someone to recommend to me a book about the Italian Unification . Somewhere between 100 to 300 pages and that book just focuses on the Unification process.
One of the best works on modern Italy is Christopher Duggan's The Force of Destiny: A History of Italy Since 1796. Duggan has an entire section devoted to the Risorgimento and how it fits in with the larger picture of Italian history.
I would also check out the work of Lucy Riall. She's written quite a bit on the Risorgimento and the principal figures in it. She wrote what's probably one of the best biographies on Garibaldi, as well as a host of other works on unification.
