I stumbled across this comment, and the resulting argument about whether the civil war really was about slaves or not. Cobsidering the large amount of disagreement here, I am pretty curious anout how accurate it is.
Did Abraham Lincoln abolish slavery to make the civil war about honor and morals so the Confederates could not call allies?
