History of Energy?

by lelouch2010

Looking for sources/books on energy history, just read Daniel Yergin's The Prize and I loved it, is there any other reccomendations/must reads when it comes to energy history?

I'll offer some sources on the trans-Alaska Pipeline, but the definitive history of the pipeline hasn't yet been written ...

  • Coates, Peter A. The Trans-Alaska Pipeline Controversy. University of Alaska Press, 1991.
  • Cole, Dermot. Amazing Pipeline Stories. Kenmore, Washington; Epicenter Press, 1997.
  • Mead, Robert Douglas. Journeys Down the Line: Building the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Doubleday, 1978.
  • Wickware, Potter. Crazy Money: Nine Months on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. New York; Random House, 1979.

I think Cole's book is the best of these; it's easily understandable and full of anecdotes about life building the pipeline.
