How much is History at its end, or, does History ever end?

Do we live in the time that we can record everything we see with video and TV so 'our' history becomes quite 'obvious'? What makes today's history so different from other periods? Do you feel it will ever come to a halt?

Modern history is often quite a muddled and complex affair because for every instance of recording, there comes along with it at least one interpretation.

As a purely modern reference, most people do not think Nixon's wire tapping was a good thing. When interviewed about it Nixon replied that it wasn't really a crime when the President did it. Today most presidents enact the, "Nixon" Principal without batting an eye. No threat of impeachment. Each of the three most recent presidents could be hauled in front of a court for violating laws regarding the conduct of war (Clinton presided over military action in which US personnel knowingly targeted civilian structures, Bush knowingly started a war without provocation and, by his own words, having recognized the justifications were flimsy at best, Obama maintained that war and authorized a massive increase of unmanned drone attacks in territory claimed by someone who's apparently our ally) but nothing really happens.

Though I guess that constitutes, "irony" rather than differing opinions.

Case in point, though, when we live in an era where a war more than a century old is still referred to in some parts of the country as the, "War of Aggression" and when you can have Russian Federation politicians get in front of the camera and claim that a meteor exploding in the earth's upper atmosphere is actually a US weapons test, I don't think history is at its "end."

People are full of opinions, and just like how every decade or two there's a proverbial Rosetta Stone, or King Tut's Tomb which represents a major breathrough for understanding ancient and pre-historic human culture and history, there's no end to controversial modern subjects. I mean, we still debate over whether the Holocaust happened and whether or not GMO's are going to give us cancer. Maybe not seriously but it still happens.
