We've all heard the phrase "Nice job, Einstein" when someone does something dumb, and often the smart kid in class is referred to as being an Einstein. Was there another person whose name was used in such a manner before Albert Einstein?
Similarly, we've probably all heard "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to (understand point speaker is trying to make)" -- what was used before there were such things as rocket scientists?
