Hey I'm presenting about British colonization in Africa but I've got no info on how the British Empire actually managed to grab so many areas on the continent. Thanks for your answers :)
Try taking a look at these two texts to get you started:
A History of Modern Africa, by Richard J. Reid. Deals well with what led up to colonization of Africa and the colonial period itself. Also see Dennis Laumann's Colonial Africa, 1884-1994. - Laumann's book is short, (like 80 pages), but great and to the point. Good luck!
