Hello all, im currently writting a paper for history and im in need of some primary sources in Europe during the plague, there seem to be no shortage of secondary sources so im okay there. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
If you have secondary sources then these should direct you to useful primary sources. They will have primary source references that you can trace backwards and will include bibliographic information for looking them up.
Identifying primary sources should be part of your research methodology as you read: the author(s) of your secondary sources will point out the primary sources they use for the argument by quotation and footnote, and you can selectively look at those more deeply, choosing them based on the arguments that interest you. If they do not refer to primary source materials, then it is a tertiary source and should be avoided. Wikipedia and encyclopedias are examples of tertiary sources.
