A better option is to follow they're train of thought to the logical(illogical) conclusion and point out how they don't really work. Take Atlantis, if its the centre of civilisation why is there such a wide variety in global civilisations? Most empires liked to standardise.

And for the aliens, if they need the pyramids as landing zones why don't we keep finding their ships?
