How have historians' views of General Haig from WWI changed over the last century?

I have to admit I don't know much of the historiography of this subject, but I am curious. I know that at some point after the war he was seen quite negatively as either incompetent or a butcher, but I have heard that sometime later people looked at him differently. How have views of him changed in the last hundred years?

One of our WWI experts, /u/NMW, tackled this subject brilliantly in this post.
