There were very few ethnic Turks in the Turkish armies that conquered what is now Turkey, relative to the size of the population of Asia Minor/Anatolia. Therefore the actual ethnic Turkish gene pool, relative to the existing gene pool in the area was so small as to probably be insignificant. Hence, the Turks now are, essentially, the descendants of the pre-Turkish peoples of Anatolia.
