Did they follow their own pantheons, or had they perhaps converted to the Hellenic pantheon under Roman rule? When I say North Africa, I mean from Morocco to Egypt. Any links that go in-depth about the pantheons themselves would also be greatly appreciated.
Pre-Christian could refer to the Roman period in which people worshiped the pantheon of Roman gods along with local deities that are incorporated into the faith. Before the Romans (who became predominantly Christian later on), most of them would have worshipped ethnical faiths, and shamanism. The celts did have their distinct religion and Iberia had a similar sort of religious practices. Africa would have been also local faiths, Egypt would have their pantheon, and Carthaginian territories may have followed the Carthaginian faith.
Is there anywhere that has information on the specific deities, or types of deities, of Iberia and North Africa? Or are the Celtic and Phoenician deities, respectively, close enough? A cursory search didn't turn up anything for the Iberians and seemed to indicate that Carthaginian faith was basically a continuation of Phoenicia.
