I know that the Exetor book contained many riddles, so word games could be seen as a hobby. We also know of Old English Epics such as beowulf which were popular. Hunting was certainly popular can can be seen on the first panel of the Bayeux tapestry.

We know that Gambling and dice games were also popular as dice have been discovered in Graves and serval board games have been uncovered. One game Alea evangelii has been doucmented in manuscripts which was probably based on similar Norse games called Tafl games.
