I'm not sure if this is the right subreddit but hopefully someone could shed some light on the history of the reign of Kublai Khan and the life of Marco Polo.
I will say this in the hope that someone with the ability will come along and answer with the facts, but I had heard theories that he made a lot of his travels up in order to puff himself up back home.
Any truth in this?
