I was talking to a friend about crime rates and those crime statistics stormfront members love to post. This quickly led to how the black population were pretty much lower class citizens until a generation ago and he asked me about the situation in Europe.
This made me realize I have no idea how the racial relations during that time period were in Europe and I'd really love to know. Especially during WW1 and duting WW2 outside the influence of Germany.
Europe is a pretty broad term. Especially in the 19th century because the continent was way more different than today.
For Central Europe or Austria I can say something.
Antisemitism is rampant. With the 20th century and Mayor Karl Lueger (who was seen by Hitler as a role model) modern Antisemitism started to get (which is racially motivated, and not religious).
But it wasn't jsut antisemitism but also anti-czech or more generally anti-slav racism (Czechs were the biggest subgroup). Many Czech people came to Vienna as it was the central city of the Empire and growing very large. I read a lot of newspapers articles of the time, and it basically reads like modern racism just with different ethnicities. Like, they can't integrate, they don't fit in culturally, they get to many children and "overtake" the country in a few generations, "they took our jobs", etc.
It is really impressive because the rhetoric hasn't changed a bit. I can later on post various articles (the newspapers have been digitalized) but they're obviously in German, so I don't know if they help you. Generally, Czechs lived on the outside of the city (working class districts), had way lower living standards and had mostly working class jobs. There's even semi-racist connotations until this day. "Ziegelböhm" or "Ziegelbehm" means something like "brick bohemian" (Bohemia is/was the biggest czech province) due to their important role in brick making/ construction general.

edit1: There were "expressed wills" to exterminate Czech live in Austria/ Vienna during NS regime once the war would have been won. It obviously never came down to this, but it was always a thought kept in the back of the NS.
