In WWII did the Axis ever directly raid the UK, much like the Allies raided the continent?

the biggest was Dieppe, but I'm really asking here about smaller raids, down to a few men, either for intelligence gathering or to destroy specific targets.

Germany invaded and occupied the channel islands and held them until the end of the war. Although the islanders felt a bit abandoned the islands didn't really hold any military significance, so an attempt to re-take them was never made.

As far as the mainland goes only bombing attacks.
