The books I have found on google and amazon seem to have a strong bias towards idolizing Scipio Africanus, like the book "Scipio Africanus: Greater than Napoleon." What would be a read that presents a more balanced analysis of both his private life and military accomplishments?
I would highly recommend the book "In the Name of Rome" by Adrian Goldsworthy. He is a well respected historian with a huge volume of literature under his belt at this point. This book covers the major generals throughout rome ' s history and has a nice section on Scipio. I find this particular book is interesting because of the way you are able to compare and contrast the various generals with one another.
