I vaguely remember learning about a great ancient library (possibly Roman) that contained a lot of knowledge that was lost after it was destroyed by someone (possibly Alexander the Great). What am I thinking of and what kind of knowledge was possibly lost?

Sorry for the shitty description. I can't remember if this is actually a thing I learned about or if I made it up in my head.

hi! it sounds like you're thinking of the Library of Alexandria. You can get started on this topic in the FAQ
