Anyway, that looks like a gold Dinar from the Sasanian Empire, so yes, it's Persian. The Sassanids were the last Persian dynasty before the arrival of Islam. That particular coin shows the head of Khusrau II (also spelled Khusro), who ruled the empire from 590-628 AD, so that's when your coin was minted. The Muslims arrived about 5 years after he died and a couple decades later Persia was Islamic.

It looks kinda worn out, but in good condition they sell for pretty good money. This one sold for $8,500.
