I recently acquired this flintlock rifle at auction without knowing much about guns. My wife thinks I'm crazy but I think these are awesome pieces of history. I'm most interested in the serpent design on the flintlock. I have not seen anything like that anywhere else in my online research. The stock also seems a unique shape. I wonder if it is from the early or late era of flintlocks and who would have owned an ornate gun like this. Is it perhaps from India or Asia somewhere?
