So it turns out a Super Pershing was actually sent to Europe and saw action before the end of WWII. What are the odds that this tank actually took out a Tiger II like the gunner says in his book?

Here is the link to the article. I know quite a good deal about WWII armor and I believe that the gunner's story has some value, but others argue that the odds of the Super P coming into contact with a King Tiger were slim at best. Judging by the description of the encounter it seems reasonable. Also I was curious to see how easy it would be to mistake a Panther, Panzer, or even Tiger I for a Tiger II? I argue that with the redesigned turret, bigger gun, and up-armored hull this would have been difficult.
