I watched a show on tv once (I don't remember the name, sorry) that claimed horses played such a vital role in history that it alone can be the reason as to why Europe and Asia had huge empires vs the Americas' small tribes and smaller empires. Is this reasonable to conclude?

I'm not sure what the show was called, but it was interesting how they connected the points. I was hoping someone could say how plausible this point could be and hopefully someone saw this show and can add points too.
