What is the historical consensus on the claim that Turing's ability to crack enigma saved 2 years and 14 million lives in WWII.

The factoid appears at the end of The Imitation Game and I have seen it before but this sort of thing seems incredibly subjective so I'm wondering if this number represents a claim that is generally supported or if it was used because it was an outlier with a stronger claim.
