The 1561 celestial phenomenon over Nuremberg was a mass sighting of celestial phenomena or unidentified flying objects (UFO) above Nuremberg, Germany. The phenomenon has been interpreted by some modern UFO enthusiasts as an aerial battle, possibly of extraterrestrial origin. This view is mostly dismissed by skeptics, some referencing Carl Jung's mid-twentieth century writings about the subject.
This made me really curious. Did anything similar happen throughout history? Also, how much do we know about the 1561 celestial phenomenon at Nuremberg? It seems like a very interesting subject, but you don't hear about it too often.
On the 4th of july in 1054 Chinese observers saw the remanants of the supernova that is now the crab nebula. On the other side of the world (in america) we found drawings of indians depicting also that same event. In the middle east we have also records from this moment. The chinese saw this because they had a court astrologer who kept an eye on the skies. They described the supernova as a gueststar because the star was before the explosion unseen.^1
