A friend found what looks like some currency and a postcard in German dated 1944 in a book from a thrift store. Any clue what these are?

The notes on the first picture are a 100,000 Mark banknote from the Weimar Republic issued on 01/02/1923 and a 500 Million Mark banknote (issued 01/09/1923) This was the era of the hyperinflation in Germany and the Reichsbank repeatedly had to issue new banknotes as the money became virtually worthless.
