I read that when going on raids, vikings would bring a Sami Shaman (who were respected in many Scandinavian societies) with them for any magic related needs, are there any credible sources of this?
hi! that's a topic I don't recall seeing in here (so hopefully someone can contribute something relevant), but you may be interested in these previous threads on Norse-Sami relations
This seems like something from a fantasy book or movie why not bring there own shamans that spoke norse and worshipped the asatru aswell?
