Request for book titles

I'd like to know a good amount of detail about the Stone Age and up to the Neolithic Revolution. In particular I'm interested in the knowledge, beliefs, and technology of people living at those times. Are there any good books on the subject? I have in mind books like college textbooks: Things that are somewhat introductory in that they don't focus on a very narrow region or time, but also somewhat academic in that they provide a good amount of detail.

The introductory textbooks we use in the UK are:

  • The Human Past, edited by Chris Scarre
  • The Origin of Human Society by Peter Bogucki
  • The Oxford Illustrated Prehistory of Europe, edited by Barry Cunliffe
  • Prehistoric Europe by Timothy Champion, Clive Gamble and Stephen Shennan (my favourite)

I might be able to recommend something more specific of there's a particular region you're interested in.
