Minoan & Phoenician Ship faring. Did they get their ideas from each other?

Minoan civilization is credited with being seafarer's. So are the Phoenicians. So are the sea people's.

Is there a common thread amongst these Mediterranean's that ties in their ship building technology? I see a timeline of the Minoan's and their ships and their decline, the rise of the sea people, and the settling in Phoenician territory who they themselves had shipbuilding technology that the Greeks and Romans eventually adopted.

I found this after searching around a few key words (Minoan, Phoenician, and boats; specifically)

The Phoenicians copied both Egyptian and Minoan technology. I [still] have no clue where the sea peoples got their ship technology from.

I searched around. The Minoans had a Keel which was made from cedar, the Egyptians had their own design that used ribs and thwarts that was made from ill suited acacia. Using the cedars of Lebanon, the Phoenicians merged the two designs until they perfected sails and then the trireme.
