I was talking to a man from Anglesey in North Wales whose father served in the Arctic Convoys during World War Two.
In the course of this conversation he revealed this book to me, which he said his father took from a Jewish ship during his time in the navy.
I was wondering if anyone here could help me identify it and, if it a first edition, perhaps value it.
I have attempted to use google and google translate and had no luck.
I will update my post with more pictures of the book in roughly 90 minutes, including some more of the pictures inside.
Unfortunately I don't speak German.
Any help is much appreciated.
Edit - after a bit of digging I have discovered this:
It was obviously quite a widely printed book (more so than I first thought).
Just for curiosities sake it would be great if anyone could give me more information.
Gritzbach was one of Goering's toadies, sometimes referred to as the latter's right-hand man. The book you have is the authorized biography of Goering, published in 1938 (and Goering received the book's royalties, not Gritzbach). Gritzbach started as von Papen's secretary, but defected over to Goering in the 1930s.
