I want to learn about industrialization in Russia (19th/20th century), but I have got no idea how to get started. Directions please?

Alec Nove's "An Economic History of the USSR" would probably be a good starting point. It has a chapter (possibly two?) on the Tsarist era then goes into industrialisation under the Soviets. The bulk of the material is about the early Five Year Plans which should suit your emphasis on the development of industry in the 20th Century.

Unfortunately I don't know any specialist texts on industrialisation in Tsarist Russia. The only book I can think of off the top of my head is Norman Stone's "The Eastern Front" but that is very much focused on WWI (as the title suggests) and at least from the way Stone wrote it, was supposed to be counter to the orthodox view of the Tsarist industrial economy being defective. So might not be a good starting point.
