However, there are a few weak and disprovable pieces of evidence such as traces of cocoa found in Tutankhamun's tomb. Cocoa is native to the Americas and were not introduced to Africa until the 1800s. However, by the time this was discovered, the mummy had been moved at least 5 times before the discovery, so this is generally ruled out.
There was also a ceramic head found in an archaeological site that resembled the art style of ancient Rome. It was found under 3 layers of pyramid and the burial of the head was dated to the 1470s, so could be pre-Norse or Columbian contact . There are many other hypotheses though. In fact, a student working on the dig claimed that he threw it in there as a practical joke.
