How is the Chinese dynasty of Qin so famous in Western Culture, when it ruled for such a short amount of time comparatively?

The Qin Dynasty is considered the first Imperial Dynasty, so that lends real significance despite it's brevity. Emperor Qin Shi Huang's burial contains the famous Terracotta soldiers, and he also initiated a unified Great Wall (though what we see now does not date from his reign). Both of these constructions figure prominently in the Western conception of China.
