This is not an appropriate question for /r/AskHistorians since you're just asking for "interesting facts" for WWII. It's not unspecific and rather too broad to be asked here. If you have a more specific questions, like "How did Mitsuru Ushijima's command affect the battle of Okinawa?" or "How much Allied shipping was really lost during the Battle of Atlantic?" would be great questions to ask - 'Tell me interesting stuff about WWII' is not.
