We did see it and and we still do. I apologise for the lazy link pasting, but there have been long standing tensions since the second world war over Japanese attitudes to the past. There were demonstrations and unrest of Japanese text books that gloss over the massacres and occupation of China, also on going tension around comfort women from China. The perpretators of heinous war crimes are venerated as well.

I know it's wiki but it's okay rundown of whats been happening in terms of China-Japan relations. And I know I am reference really recent events but only to demonstrate that the bitterness is still there.
