Are you looking for things that happened explicitly in 1238? Exact dates are tough to come by in most parts of the Americas. The lowland Classic Maya tradition that produced large numbers of dated stela had died out by then, so your left with the likes of dendrochronology (tree ring dating) to determine definite years.
