With Prince Andrew in the news as part of the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, if he were to be charged with a crime and found guilty, is there a precedent for having him stripped of Royal titles/his claim to the throne?
I am not sure if there is a precedence for being stripped of titles because of a crime as the Monarchy tend to be immune to litigation but an act of Parliament ( The Title Deprivation act of 1917) was created to allow the Privy council to investigate members of the British Royal family who were fighting for the Central Powers and to strip them of their titles.
Two Royal Princes were stripped of their titles for siding with The German Empire ( both German Dukes) being the Duke of Saxe-Coburg andGotha and the Duke of Brunswick. They were also stripped of British citizenship but their families are still in the British line of Sucesssion
