Are there any well-researched books about Mexico and the Philippines relationship from before conquest through conquest and till the modern day?

I'm looking for a comprehensive history, but a book about the two countries in general with a tie-in to Spanish Conquistadors would be fine.

I'm a little confused. I would have thought there was ZERO contact between Mesoamerica/NewSpain/Mexico and the Philippines before the conquest.

Also, "through conquest" and "tie-in to Spanish Conquistadors": I don't understand why there would be a relationship.

Yes, the "discovery" of the Philippines involved ships leaving New Spain. And New Spain was in charge of the Manila galleon trade. If it is such beginnings that you are interested in, I would recommend William Lytle Schurz's The Manila Galleon.

But when the galleons stopped, I'm guessing the only books on the relationship between Mexico and the Philippines would only be about economics and trade.
