I'm studying this in school and for the life of me I cant understand what the hell is going on between them. I know she got pregnant and Abelard got castrated and left her in the coventry, but nothing I've read to me seems like he loved her at all. And yet I've heard people refer to this as a great tragic love story, or there story as a famous love story?

I want to answer this question, but I'm not at all sure what resources you've used. Have you read the extraordinary letters between them? I'm trying to understand why you might have doubt about their love, whatever forms that love took.
