A little context:
My partner may end up getting a nursing job but we don't know where, hence the idea to go Online
I'm interested in making enough to be able to have a decent life with some travel thrown in each year
I already know I'm good in front of a class and that teaching works for me
I'm a fiction writer with ambitions of getting published
I'm open to the possibility of a doctorate down the line
Would getting the M. A. online be shooting myself in the foot or is it a solid option? Perhaps I should wait until I can devote two years to a brick and mortar?
Thank you for any suggestions, they're much appreciated.
In theory, an MA will allow you to teach at most CCs. In reality, you'll be up against 100s, perhaps 1000s of PhDs applying for the same job. Those PhDs will almost certainly not be from an online school.
You will almost certainly not get a university or CC job with an MA -- from anywhere.
