I'm new to history and taking an interest in ancient and medieval warfare and politics. Rome, Greece and the Mongols are a few I've taken some time to get into.
I've heard the Mongols had a confrontation with the Japanese, but I'm entirely ignorant of the subject.
I'm look for good reading material, in English, on the history of the Japanese politic systems and confrontations.
Thank you, and I apologize if this is not the place for this question.
I think Stephen Turnbull is pretty well regarded in this area, so you're probably safe reading his works. They are often given unfortunate lurid sounding titles (probably by his publishers) but he is an academic and generally trustworthy.
