Global politics in the 17th century?

by Denove

Resources (books, websites, anything) about global relationships in the 17th century, especially between Europe and Asia, and obviously within the two. Resources on major powerhouses of the age would also be nice. If a specific range helps, 1650-1660 is especially important to me. If this could be kept to under 10 books and unlimited online resources, that would be exceptional. As always, thanks for any and all well-meant answers.

Also, this is an x-post from AskHistory.

Global politics will be related to trade, and China issued the Haijin, a ban on maritime activity, several times. Especially in the 1640s to 1680s. This is a good book on the topic: The Qing Opening to the Ocean, Chinese Maritime Policies, 1684-1757. It's later than your period, but summarises the earlier situation well.
