Accuracy of crashcourse history video concerning Mitilene in Attica.

This video says that, after defeating the rebellious city of Mytilene, Athens killed the men and enslaved the women and children. Is this the case? I thought that the outcome of the Mytilenian Debate was that another ship was sent out to stop the destruction of Mytilene. The relevant text would be from Thucydides, I believe. Any thoughts?

They are probably confusing the Mytilenian Debate with the later Melian Debate, which resulted in the slaughter of the Melians. The Mytilenians had their walls torn down, most of their lands confiscated, tribute placed on them, and a cleruchy installed as a garrison, but were spared
