I know that the Western Allies did, and in some instances recycled concentration camps like Bergen-Belsen as refugee camps. But did the Soviets have any equivalents?
The Soviets didn't recognise the DP status and repatriated everybody to their countries of origin, so they didn't set up any DP camps in their occupation zones.
The overwhelming majority of DPs were Eastern Europeans and the whole rationale of the DP camps in the Western Allies' occupation zones quickly became to house Jewish and other displaced persons who were reluctant to return to their home countries that were now under Soviet control.
