This falls flat at even the most superficial level. One of the many evils of the Empire was that it allowed for and utilized slavery, something the Rebels were against.

What parallels do you see? I mean if you're really, really, really Pro-Confederate you could say Palpatine kind of could represent Abraham Lincoln with a lot of suspension of belief and using ideas most of us would consider pretty much on the same level of authenticity as most of the "evidence" surrounding Holocaust denial.

Do you have any particular thoughts on what the parallels would be? I can't really think of one.
