Is the greek democracy thesis overturned, that greece invented democracy spread it to rome, and then it got resscurted wrong?

From what i have read the democracy of rome, athens , venice and iceland . All emerged indepandtly , due poltical pressure and enviorment. Not greece

I don't quite understand your point. You say rightly that Athens had a democracy, but then state that Greece did not invent democracy?
