They didn't. Tuyeres are a component of a blast furnace, which came into existence in the 13th century, in Switzerland and Germany (Jockenhövel et al. "Archaeological Investigations on the Beginning of Blast Furnace-Technology in Central Europe") well after the iron age was over.
